Sorry, Server Change for Pirate Proxies

We have been working on changing over servers for the last few days and have had some difficulties doing so. During this time there may have been some issues including wrong redirects and general downtime. We have also been unable to update lately. We would like to apologize for any inconveniences that this may have caused our visitors.

Horrible Day for Proxy Sites

As we were doing our frequent checks of our proxy list, we found a whopping 16 sites that did not meet our standards; all removed from the list. The majority were removed because the proxies themselves were not working. A handful were also deleted from our list because of the types of ads or placement of the ads they chose to display. It's never a good day when we have to remove a double digit number of sites from our list.

Referer.org Implemented on PirateProxies.com

Pirate Proxies has decided to use the great free service that Referer.org is offering. Referer.org will allow us to see where our visitors are coming from with just a simple fragment of Javascript. This service has been implemented in order to help us serve our visitors' interests effectively.

First set of Proxy Topsites on PirateProxies.com

The first set of Proxy Topsites have been posted on the site. For proxy owners these topsites are a great way to gain exposure and backlinks for your site. Proxy users may also find these topsites helpful in filling your proxy needs. As with our Fresh Proxy List, this topsite list will be constantly checked to ensure that the sites that go offline or subjecting it's visitors to harmful elements will be removed.

New Look for PirateProxies.com

If you haven't already noticed, PirateProxies.com is enjoying a new fresh look. We thought we would lighten things up with a dash of orange here and there. And to go with this new look is a new service which we will be offering in the near future; a Proxy Topsite List!! So any proxy topsite owners please feeel free to submit your site(s).

Annoying Trend

A new annoying trend among proxy owners has come to light during this update. The annoyance: too many advertisements. We're used to seeing a single banner up top, sometimes even one within the content of the proxified page. Now we're starting to see adverts on the top, bottom, and right-hand side of the proxified pages. I'm even seeing advertisements that take up the top 400 pixels of the site; no exaggeration folks, 400 pixels worth of advertisements on the top of every page you surf on. But don't worry, PirateProxies.com is looking out for your best interest and we will weed out these kinds of proxy sites. We will also start filtering out sites that use the new widgetbucks advertisements. Why? Loading time is greatly increased as widgetbucks is a flash based advertisement.

Queue Gone

The long queue to get listed on PirateProxies.com is now gone. Why, do you ask? Because about 70 sites on that queue were breaking the strict guidelines of PirateProxies.com. The majority of those sites were owned and operated by 2 networks. One of those networks, which contained about 15 proxy sites, redirected it's users to a page full of advertisements instead of the requested website. Shame on them. But, good news for the honest proxy owners as the queue has shortened up again.

Big Queue

Due to a fairly large queue of proxy sites submitted, 98 in queue as of this post, I will be adding more proxies per update. For example, this last update I added 18 sites as oppose to the usual 6-10 sites added per update.

PirateProxies.com Apologizes

During one of our routine checks of the proxy list, we found out that one of our listed proxies was automatically redirecting their visitors to an adult site via their "fake proxy form". The site in question is sneakmeout.com. We apologize to our visitors that we did not find this sooner. This site has since been removed from the list.

If anything, please take this as proof that PirateProxies.com does check through the websites on the proxy list long after they have been initially added. This is to ensure that our visitors receive only the best proxy sites to choose from. Once again, please accept our apologies.

PirateProxies.com Gets Tough

In an effort to keep the quality of our listed Proxy sites on a higher standard, PirateProxies.com will employ a tougher criteria which must be met by proxy owners in order to get listed. Some things we will be looking for include, but is not limited to...

1. Pop Ups
2. Pop Unders
3. Redirected Site
4. Errors During Loading
5. Excessive Load Time

Another important factor will be on the proxy forms themselves; how accessible and how far down the page the proxy form is found on the page. Proxy sites must also make sure that their form and address bar are easily recognized and found on the first page.
